Tim Conway Just Demolished Every Serious Actor on Broadway

 In a side-splitting sketch from season 5, episode 13 of The Carol Burnett Show, Tim Conway takes on the role of the world’s worst scene partner. The skit was broadcasted in 1972, during the heyday of variety shows.

In the sketch, we see Carol Burnett’s character attempting to practice for a community theater performance of A Streetcar Named Desire. Her husband has cast his golfing buddy George (Tim Conway) as Stanley. As soon as Conway steps onto the stage in his disheveled suit, it becomes evident that he won’t be channeling any Marlon Brando vibes.

With a touch of classic Carol Burnett Show flair, the skit concludes with a hilarious moment of physical comedy. Carol, in a moment of mishap, ends up tearing her own blouse instead of Conway’s shirt. The live audience was absolutely hysterical – their laughter echoed through the TV speakers.
